Chemical Management Strategy

Version 1 - Last updated 06 Aug 2026

A chemical management strategy sets the direction for how chemicals are selected, used and controlled across a facility.

It provides a framework for reducing risk and working toward safer, more sustainable chemical use over time.

There are three requirements for chemical management strategy:

1
Documented strategy
The facility has a documented chemical management strategy
2
Upstream suppliers
The facility engages with direct upstream input material suppliers & subcontractors to improve chemical management practices, aligned with the RtZ Programme
3
Resources
The facility assigns resources for implementing, maintaining and continually improving the chemical management strategy
