Chemical Purchasing

The chemicals that should be monitored under the input focus area are:

• Formulations: used directly in the production processes and applied on the substrate. (for example, dyes, pigments, washing agents, softeners, finishing agents, tanning agents, fat liquoring agents, adhesives, etc)
• Commodity chemicals: used as aids in production processes or in effluent treatment operations and expected to be washed out and contaminate the wastewater (for example, acetic acid, Glauber's salt, hydrogen peroxide, soda ash, etc)
• Solvents: used as catalysts or cleaning agents or in printing processes (for example acetone, perchloroethylene, methanol, toluene, etc)

There are two requirements for chemical purchasing:
