Implementation & Transition Plans

Version 1 - Last updated 15 Apr 2026

The chapter Setting Strategy, Goals and Requirements outlines how brands should define their sustainable chemical management strategy, set high-level goals and establish supplier requirements. These elements provide the strategic direction and define what the brand aims to achieve over time.

Building on this foundation, this chapter focuses on translating strategy into implementation. It shifts from long-term, high-level goals to the operational planning needed to deliver them, including the definition of time-bound targets, roles and responsibilities, resource allocation, and governance structures.

While goals set the overall ambition, implementation and transition plans define the concrete steps, timelines and accountabilities required to achieve them. This connection ensures that strategic commitments are effectively embedded into day-to-day operations and that progress can be consistently tracked across the supply chain.

There are four reccommendations in Implementation & Transition Plans:

1
Targets
Set time-bound targets
2
Responsibility
Define roles and responsibilities
3
Finance
Set budgets, investment and funding
4
Governance
Define governance and oversight
